Lividity Interview

1. What’s up you sickos? How’s your day going?

Dave – Our Lividity life is a sweet ride these days!! Plenty of great opportunities to keep us smiling and sweet pussy to make us feel great!! Love it!! Maniacs are really crushing with us these days and since 2006 and the release of “Used, Abused And Left For Dead” shit has taken off real well!!!
2. Lividity has been around for a long time give us a bit of history.
Dave – Started it myself in 1993 with drum machine, all instruments, vocals, 4 track recorder, etc… spewing forth my hatred to get my ideas out to the masses!! Finally landed a full band for stage in 1995!! 1996 started the pro recordings with a 4 song demo “Rejoice In Morbidity” and have been building up stronger each year and each release till now!! 15 years later!! Have played great festivals and weekend warrior shows throughout Central and East USA, toured USA / Canada 2006, have been touring Europe since 1999!! Have had a great underground life with this band!! We are lucky, we have been at the right places at the right time… a ton of bands surround that are great but would kill for some of the situations we have found!! Many line up changes, so we have been inconsistent for a long time till we have the band now with my self on guitar/ backing vocals, Von Young (Deaden) on guitar / vocals, Garrett Scanlan (CorpseVomit, Cum Christ, Evil Incarnate) on drums and Chris Campbell on bass!! We are at our strongest point now!! You can preview the lengthy discography on our myspace page of all the releases and bootlegs!! A great collection!!

3. You guys are headed off to Europe. Who are you going with? Have you been there before? Is there a good reaction for you guys over there?

Dave - Europe has the best die hard metal freaks I have ever seen!! True passion for the music, and they follow it from town to town and even the ladies are wearing the camo pants and hats and wind milling their heads and is a great party!! We have been over there a few times now and this will be our 7th trip since June 1999!! We had just played the Party.San Open Air Festival in Germany this past August 2008!! There were 10,000 metal freaks camped out there for 4 days!!! Was the best experience yet!! I think it really helped set up the promotions for the Europe tour in April 2009!! We will have a 7 band roster on this tour with 2 buses carrying the bands and the help… with us, Requiem (Switzerland) as co-headliners, Nordor (Greece), Warpath (Ireland), Abortification (Finland), Beneath The Flesh (USA), and Coffin Syrup (USA)!! A festival on wheels!! Will be a great party!! We will hit places we have never been like Poland as well as familiar places like Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland, etc.. 17 shows in 17 days!! April 10 – 26, 2009!! Hope everybody cums out to rage with us each night!! I think we are very well respected and supported in the mighty European nation.. it doesn’t get any better than this!!

4. Do you have any Lividity moment from tour that you will always remember? Some sleazy whore or something?

Dave – There are a few moments!!! 1999 – Decin, Czech Republic: We were staying in this small town in between shows and we were the first Americans to visit this restaurant and they had us sign a book they keep in the front of building with rare and / or famous people have signed it… So this day, we are in that book somewhere with drawings, logo and signatures… 1999 – Czech / German border: visiting the home of Hitler’s girlfriend, and we went up in his tower where you can see the country side and where the German “double s” was cut out in the trees for the air troops… 2003 – Europe tour: Everyday was an adventure on the road 4 weeks with Master: One of the most memorable, was when Will (lead singer of Mastic Scum also on the tour) had introduced me to one of his friends at Innsbruck, Austria and the guy let me have a couple hits of some Austrian drug, literally 5 minutes before our set, and it was one of the most demonic, hateful brutal shows of the tour!!! 2004 – Lyss, Switzerland: Doom Productions flew us in for 1 show that weekend May 15!! What a cool ride, Great little village!! 2005 – Germany: We went to play at the Fuck The Commerce Fest in front of close to 4000 people co headlining with Entombed!! Remarkable!!! 2006 – Toronto, Canada: We were on US / Canada tour and we played this club in Toronto on a Wednesday and still had people drive 7 hours 1 way to see the show because it was the only Canada stop!! 2007 – Europe Tour: We went swimming in the Mediterranean Sea while we were in between 2 Italy shows with day off!! Camped out there, partied, swimming.. A fantastic sight!! Also on that tour, we played a festival last day of tour in Geibelstadt, Germany and the crowd rushed on stage and the sound guys flipped off all power and had to get every one off the stage before we could move forward with the show… haha!!! 2008 – Bad Berka, Germany: Party.San Open Air Fest we played for 10,000 metal hungry freaks!! That was the best show ever!!!! That has helped set up our 2009 Europe Tour in April!!!!

5. Any plans for a new CD to come out soon? Maybe live CD for the Europe tour?
Dave – We are writing material right now and then we will record after the April Europe Tour!! We plan for it to be out September 2009! It will be released through War Anthem Records (Germany) in cooperation with Epitomite Productions (USA)!!! Title will be “To Desecrate & Defile” Some song titles we have are Sword Of Sodomy, Engorged In Blood (To Fill You With My Semen), Inner Fetal Dismemberment, Mass Genocide, Dismantle The Carcass, Sores Break… and more coming soon!! Going to be sick for sure!! We just released a Live CD, “Live Fornication” that has a mix of 2 shows from Central Illinois Metalfest 2007 (Urbana, IL.) and Europe Tour 2007 (Wermelskirchen, Germany)!! That is out on Epitomite Productions!! http://www.%20myspace.%20com/epitomite
6. What do you do outside of play metal?

Dave – That is all we do is play metal, think metal, eat metal, shit metal, ands fuck metal!! It keeps us inspired at all times!! Orgasmic hymns of cum soaked torture!!!
7. Do you listen to any classic rock? what bands?

Dave – Sure… I think I am the only one in the band that listens to classic stuff!! Everybody else can’t get past the thrash era.. I like obscure and guitar driven bands as Alice Cooper, Motorhead, old Scorpions (with Uli Jon Roth on guitar), Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Traffic, Humble Pie, Elf (with Ronnie James Dio), UFO, Santana, Kiss, Ted Nugent… Good shit, you know?!!

8. How long have you been playing guitar for?

Dave – I have been playing since I was 15 and picked 1 up after I heard Metallica “Ride The Lightening”!! Fight Fire With Fire blew me away!!! I have been interested in guitar since 1981 (I was in 6th grade I believe) and I heard The Blizzard Of Ozz with Randy Rhoads!! So I have been playing since 1984 – 1985!!

9. Whats your favorite album of all time?

Dave – That is a tough question, I will just let you know what influenced me by certain albums like Black Sabbath “Master Of Reality”, Exodus “Bonded By Blood”, Metallica “Ride The Lightening”, Ozzy Osbourne “Blizzard Of Ozz”, Slayer “Hell Awaits”, Megadeth “Killing Is My Business…”, Overkill “Feel The Fire”, SOD “Speak English Or Die”, Anthrax “Spreading The Disease”, Cannibal Corpse “Butchered At Birth”, Suffocation “Effigy Of The Forgotten”, At The Gates “Red In The Sky Is Ours”, Venom “At war With Satan”, Death “Scream Bloody Gore”, Deicide “Legion” and many more!!!

10. Who has been some of your favorite bands that Lividity has shared the stage with?

Dave – We played with Deicide in ’98, Six Feet Under in ’95, Dying Fetus in ’95 (first stage appearance for us), Grave / Insatanity in ’96, all the CorpseVomit, Deaden, Waco Jesus and Fleshgrind shows we have jammed, Some festival appearances with Mortal Decay, Internal Bleeding, Suffocation, Entombed, Impetigo (reunion gig at CIM ’07), Vital Remains, Origin, Jungle Rot, Regurgitation, Necrotic Disgorgement, Lust Of Decay, Hemdale, Vomit Remnants, Desecration (UK), Anata, Behemoth, Obituary, Dismember, Purgatory, Bolt Thrower, Bloodbath, Unanimated, General Surgery, Hail Of Bullets, Avulsed, Vomitory, Fleshless and many more!!!

11. Any plans to come out to the west coast of the U.S. soon? when was the last time you guys came out this way?

Dave – No plans, we have no offers, and we have only been as far west as Missouri… St. Louis to be exact!! 2 hours West is the farthest!!

12. Final words?

Dave – Thanx Dylan for the killer support and interest!! Support the bands that support the scene!! Hope we get the chance to make it out your way real soon after the new album!! Support my other band as well, Embrace Damnation!! Blackened Death Metal in the vein of At The Gates meets Deicide meets Belphegor!!! Interview With Super Metal band -Headless Pez

Headless Pez - perhaps Portlands most nasty, insane, alcoholic metal band takes time from whacking off to answer these questions.

1. Hey you sickos hows it going? Who am I speaking too?
This be Tha Robbfather

2. How did Headless Pez start? I know everyone is wondering how you got the name, and when you guys formed and stuff?
Number 1, nobody cares where we got our ridiculous name. Number 2, due to ongoing legal action involving the church we cannot comment on how we formed. Number 3, our history involves a lot of shitty drummers, a lot of shitty guitarists and a lot of shitty dicks. All that matters is that you are now talking to the most amazing cockmetal band that you have ever had the pleasure to interview.

3. You have quite the reputation around Portland. How many clubs have you guys been kicked out of? Which ones allow you guys back?
We've been kicked out of all of them. Fuck Portland! We're moving to California where people like having blood and shit thrown at them! Plus, the bitches shave their bushes, I'm sick of choking on piss-soaked, hippy, northwest crotch! Next question.

4. Do you guys prefer a house/basement show or a gig at a venue?
We prefer any show where the promoter gets us drunk. If you don't give us booze, we're not playing! If you give us too much, we're not playing! It's your job figure out where the line is crossed. We're retarded, we can't figure it out on our own.

5. That video of Brooks pouring hot sauce in his eye socket on your page is funny as hell, how did you guys get him to do that?! well besides booze...Booze?
He was completely sober. He had been working up to that moment for months. He started with mild sauce, worked up to wasabi, until, for the entire week before-hand, he took 12 inches of spicy Mexican dick in his eye for hours everyday. All of that preparation was leading up to that legendary video that all of you enjoy so much.
6. Who does manages all your guys stage props and shit? You guys have quite the array of dead babies, dildos, flaming enemas, etc.
Yes we do.
7. Whats your personal favorite album of all time?
Judas Priest-Painkiller, Any ODB, The Crown-Deathraceking, The Accused-Maddest Stories Ever Told, and any Pink, Not in any particular order. I'm better than you, that's why I have more than one favorite.

8. When will you guys put out a CD next?
We've been together for decades and still haven't put out a full length, so don't hold you fuckin' breath. Instead, just buy our 3 song CD for full length CD price.

9. Is there a favorite show/ venue that you guys have thrashed?
Bakersfield. I wanna give a shout out to EatShit. Those kids know how to fuckin' thrash! If your town wasn't so fuckin' hot and didn't smell like wetback dick, we would move there. Like I said before, FUCK PORTLAND!!! The only reason we're still here is to bring this town crumbling down. Then we'll move on to the next. Our war machine is fully fueled with hippy blood, ready to ram purple-headed dog dicks up all the manclams of anyone that dares stand in our way.

10. last words????
I'm gonna shit in your pants.

Interview with Mordsaw from Bend Oregon

One of the few cool bands from bend, good friends of mine; Mordsaw! Mordsaw used to be a two piece but recently got a vocalist and now are ready to spread gore and terror throughout the entirety of Oregon!

1. Hey dude hows it going?

Things are goin goretastic, we got a new drum set, so no more bullshit equipment issues, we got us a shiny new vocalist and were got a couple new songs in the works.

2. So word just broke that you guy have a vocalist eh? Tell us some more about that.

We looked high and low for someone to do vocals for us and had just about given up when we ran into this thrash punk dude we went to high school with and he said that all he's ever wanted to do was be a vocalist in a metal band so we gave him a shot. He seems game for the whole style of music and he can drink his fair share of beer so we're hopin he works out.

3. What do you think about the Oregon metal scene? Hows the metal scene out there?

The Oregon metal scene kills, there are some damn fine bands in Portland and such, the metal scene in the bend area is pretty lame, there a couple good bands but there is a lot of "hardcore" bullshit, fucking vegans and such.

4. Who are some of your guys' biggest influences?

Isaiah takes a lot of influence from old school death shit like suffocation, cannibal corpse, and death. I'm most inspired by shit like repulsion, old black metal, and napalm death. If its fast, Gorey, and gross we dig it.

5. Haha I know this will be a difficult one, but you have to choose - Repulsion or Decrepit? Why?

Repulsion all the way, decrepit rules and all but repulsion is one of the most killer bands ever, they're fast and gorey just like we like it.

6. What are your guys' lyrics about?

Every song is about good old fashioned violence, we sing about zombies, cannibalism, killing babies, being buried alive, cheesy horror stuff, we hate music with a message, zombies rule and politics don't.

7. Would you guys say your more Anal Cunt style grind or more towards Napalm death style shit?

We like anal cunt's music but I would say we lean more towards the napalm death style of sludgy speed shit, lots of distortion and very high tempos.

8. Favorite album of all time?

SCREAM BLOODY GORE!!!

9. Whats your favorite beer?

Pabst blue ribbon man, the real king of beers, Budweiser can suck a dick.

10. Final words?

We want to encourage people to be smart, and stay away from new school cookie cutter death metal. Black dahlia murder sucks dick and everyone knows it. Go listen to some repulsion ass holes. keep it gorey and BLEED FOR SPEED!

Interview with Californian Thrashers - Infernal Assault

Radiation Sickness' first interview is with the shred maniacs Infernal Assault. This 4 piece definitely seem to know how to have a good time, sporting the headline on their myspace - "L.A were a 40oz is $2.99, California United States "! Chris (Bass/Backup Vocalist) answers the questions!

1. Hey dude, hows it going? Iam drunk up in Canada, hope your nights are going well!

Chris: Bad ass I'm also drunk! Drank beer all day. I had to do something to kill time!!

2. How long have you been in the band? What instrument do you play? Have you been in any other bands?

Chris: We'll i play Bass guitar, (Oscar)Lead guitar/rhythm,(Igor)Vocals/Lead Guitar, and (Murphy) Drums.Igor has been in another band called "Still Birth"around3 years ago.And Murphy is just helping us out with the drums.Murphy is also in this band called "Rapid Crossfire"

3. Whats some history behind Infernal Assault, how long have you guys been around, how many demos have you guys put out?

Chris: We'll Infernal Assault doesn't have much history. Just drinking a lot of beer and playing a lot of backyard gigs around Los Angeles. We haven't put out any demos yet not until around December at least. Our vocalist is also in Canada for 3 weeks with his wife and family.Once he comes back around December we'll record a couple of our songs and release them for our demo.

4. What is your favorite band and album of all time? If you had to pick one!!

Chris: The most favorite band and album of all time would be Sepultura-Schizophrenia!! For me at least.

5. What album is better - Show No Mercy or Hell Awaits? why?

Chris: We'll for me i would say both, Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits. They are both good albums so its pretty much a tie. And both of those albums have a lot of bad ass songs!

6. How many shows have you guys played? Who's your favorite band to share the stage with?

Chris: We played nearly around 9 shows due to the fact that we always have a problem finding drummers around the area and that are dedicated to the band. The bands that we like to play with are "Striker" "Grim Death" Rapid Crossfire"and "Arsenal".

7. Do you guys have plans to release a full length CD? If so when?

Chris: Yes we planned to release a full length album around early 2009. All we need to do is just to re-record the drums, bass guitar ,and vocals.

8. Beer or Liquor?

Chris: Well for beer and liquor, it doesn't matter as long as they both get us drunk haha.

9. If you guys could play with any 3 bands who would they be?

Chris: Well the 3 bands that would we play with would be."Grim Death "Arsenal" and "Striker".

10. Last words are all yours my friend! Thanks for taking the time to do this! and remember --- SHRED!

Chris: For our last words...thanks for giving us an interview and your welcome dude! Keep on head banging! Everyone else is doing their own thing like re-recording tracks for guitars, and drinking beer! Take Care man! Keep on Thrashing!!

Appease The Beast - November 26th 2008

When I first heard about the lineup of this festival I was determined to go regardless of where it was! It turned out that it was in Los Angeles California so then it was a done deal! The drive down through the plains and shit was terrible (we came from Portland Oregon), so when we got into town it was definitely time for some beers. Anyways after getting adjusted to the heat and environment of California it was time to head to the show. We came down mainly for Macabre, Nifelheim, Sadistic Intent, Hirax, and Morbosidad.

The first few bands we watched were terrible, but we found our way into the bar where Lighting Swords Of Death were playing. We had heard only good things about these guys and sure enough they were awesome! The lead singer was a good front man and kept the crowd involved through the whole set. The other dudes in the band were quite talented as well, LSOD had a very blistering fast black metal sound, id recommend those guys to any true metal fans! The next band we were able to catch was Morbosidad, another legendary black metal band. Another chaotic fast shred fest performance from these crazy maniacs!
After that we had to have some more drinks and then it was time to catch Sadistic Intent! I had seen these guys when they came through Seattle Washington, but the crowd there didn't give them the reaction hey deserved. But in L.A. that wasn't the case! Stage diving maniacs were coming from every where, and the mosh pit was huge! They played all their killer tunes like "Funerals Obscure" "Ancient Black Earth" "Morbid Faith" and more. Then we took another bar break, and a bit of a rest! But before we knew it, Macabre - The Murder Metal Masters - were on stage! The crowd wasn't to reactive, unfortunately, me and 3 or 4 other dudes were the only ones going crazy in the pit! I crowd surfed a bit and was thrown on stage and got smashed between the stage monitors, and had a great view of the whole 3 piece, then i was thrown back onto the crowd in time to get in the pit for "The Iceman"! Macabre played all the stuff i wanted to hear "Zodiak" "Ed Gein" "Dog Guts" "Vampire Of Dusseldorf" "What The Heck Richard Speck(8 Nurses You Wrecked)". I got a chance to get photos with all the Macabre dudes, and they were all very nice! After that we caught the tail end of Hirax's set which was fast as hell! Then the legendary Master took the stage. Another killer 3 piece, they played a bunch of great tunes. After that it was time for the Swedish black thrash legends Nifelheim!! What a show these fuckers put on! They were moving all over the place getting in the crowds faces, and of course all the while being clad in leather and spiked metal attire! Basically if you haven't heard Nifelheim... your stupid! Nifelheim played all the killer songs from all their albums "Sodomizer" "Black Evil" "Bestial Avenger" "Satanic Sacrifice" "Possessed by Evil" and more. All in all a really great show, well worth the drive! I was a little pissed that I missed Intestinal Strangulation, and most of Hirax's set, but that was really the only downfall, besides some shitty openers. I am sure that next years Appease the Beast will be even Better!
